Well, for all you who have stumbled upon this page, Welcome! My name is Erin, I am a 20 year old college student currently living in a town near Boston, Massachusetts, originally from New Orleans. If anything here looks familiar, fear not--this is a new account of a deviant that has been around for some 5 or 6 years. I felt that my old name/work was more of a reflection of who I was when I was in my early teens rather than the young adult that I am now, thus "groundingROOTS" was born. To me, "groundingROOTS" represents many things--such as my love of nature, the body's connection to the earth, and not forgetting our roots, our foundations--what made us who we are, reflecting my evolution as both a person and an artist, in a sense, as I am still grounded in who I was before. I was literally up the night before I left to come back to Boston huddling at my dining room table trying to crank out hitmonlee and hitmonchan. I hope I didn't get too sloppy toward the end. So, I might be crazy.
I guess it was about a month ago now, maybe a little more than that, even, that I decided to change up the door decals for the rest of the semester (my RA makes really crappy door decorations, so every season/holiday, I take it into my own hands to create nice, original door decorations). I got tired of doing holidays though since there were still two more (Easter and St. Patrick's), so I decided we would just have glorious Pokemon on our door until the end of semester. I had a bit of an epiphany over the weekend.
I went to the almighty New York (just kidding, not really the biggest fan, it's far too crowded) to attend a vet school info session for Ross University, one of the Caribbean Schools. And it's made me realize that I am one awful excuse for a potential vet school student and I really need to get my priorities straight.
I don't know. Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard I work my little behind off, even if I work 10 times harder than all of my peers, I still do worse. Bad. Gosh darn awful you might even say. And it sucks because I feel like I'm just stuck in a ruck and I'm not getting anywher
